Djibouti City – Hon. Mohamed Jibril Mohamed, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Djibouti, attended the first Cabinet meeting of the 2025 political season, chaired by President Ismail Omar Guelleh, who outlined the government’s key priorities for the new term under the Djibouti Vision 2035 framework.
In his address, President Guelleh reaffirmed that the implementation of Djibouti Vision 2035 remains the top national priority, driving economic and social progress through strong governance, financial reform, and the modernization of infrastructure.
The President emphasized the need to accelerate public finance reforms, enhance domestic and external resource mobilization, and strengthen Djibouti’s position as a regional logistics and commercial hub through new port and road corridor developments.
He also highlighted the importance of digital transformation, referencing the adoption of the Digital Code to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and high-quality public services.
Addressing youth issues, President Guelleh stressed that Djibouti’s young people must remain at the center of all national policies, with continued investments in housing, education, health, vocational training, employment, and innovation.
Hon. Mohamed Jibril Mohamed reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to these national goals by promoting youth empowerment, sports development, and skills creation in line with Vision 2035.
President Guelleh concluded by calling for regional solidarity, particularly amid climate challenges, and praised Djibouti’s election to the Chair of the African Union Commission as a sign of continental trust in the nation’s diplomatic leadership and commitment to peace.
