Hon. Malabo Daud Hussein Participates in South West Somalia Peace and Social Integration Week

Hon. Malabo Daud Hussein, State Minister of Youth & Sports of Djibouti, took part in the Peace and Social Integration Week held in Baydhabo, the capital of South West Somalia. She was part of a high-level federal delegation from Djibouti, officially invited by the South West Somalia regional government to support and observe initiatives aimed at promoting peace, social cohesion, and youth engagement.

 

The week-long event was officially inaugurated by President Abdikassim Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen at the Presidential Palace in Baydhabo. The opening ceremony highlighted the commitment of the regional government to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and inclusive development. Hon. Malabo, along with other members of the Djiboutian delegation, attended key sessions, workshops, and community dialogues designed to strengthen cooperation between Somalia and Djibouti in youth and social programs.

 

During her participation, Hon. Malabo engaged with local leaders, youth representatives, and civil society organizations. She emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in youth empowerment, sports development, and education as tools for social integration. She also highlighted the role of sports and cultural programs in fostering unity, reducing conflict, and providing young people with constructive avenues to develop skills and leadership qualities.

 

The delegation from Djibouti, led by Hon. Malabo, met with various government officials and stakeholders to discuss potential bilateral projects aimed at enhancing youth opportunities and supporting regional stability. The discussions focused on creating joint training programs, sports competitions, and educational initiatives that benefit both countries’ youth populations.

 

Hon. Malabo’s presence also served as a symbolic gesture of Djibouti’s ongoing commitment to supporting Somalia’s peace efforts, particularly in regions affected by conflict and social fragmentation. She encouraged youth participation in community-driven programs and reiterated the importance of inclusive governance and youth representation in decision-making processes.

 

The Peace and Social Integration Week in South West Somalia provides a platform for leaders, regional authorities, and international partners to collaborate on sustainable solutions for social cohesion. Hon. Malabo’s participation strengthens the ties between Djibouti and Somalia, reinforcing the shared vision of regional peace, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

 

The event concluded with a series of workshops and community engagements designed to implement practical programs for youth and sports development, fostering long-term relationships between participants from both countries. Hon. Malabo’s visit is expected to lead to future collaborative initiatives, benefiting young people and contributing to stability and development across the Horn of Africa.
