Mogadishu, Somalia – October 23, 2025: The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Nasa Ige, paid a high-level working visit to Mogadishu, where she held a fruitful meeting with the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.H.E. The discussion focused on enhancing youth cooperation, sports development, and regional partnerships between the two neighboring nations. Both leaders emphasized the importance of empowering young people as a cornerstone for peace, stability, and regional integration in the Horn of Africa.
During the meeting at Villa Somalia, President Hassan Sheikh commended Djibouti’s continued support to Somalia’s development agenda, particularly in areas of youth engagement and sports diplomacy. He noted that such collaborations foster stronger cultural and social ties among the people of the region.
Minister Nasa Ige highlighted Djibouti’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and creating joint programs aimed at developing young talents through sports, education, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
The visit also marks another step in the growing partnership between Mogadishu and Djibouti, reflecting a shared vision for regional peace, youth empowerment, and economic cooperation.
