Kigali, Rwanda – H.E. Nasa Ige, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Djibouti, participated in the African Youth Innovation Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda. The three-day summit brought together youth ministers, innovators, and development partners from across the continent to discuss empowering Africa’s young innovators through technology and sports.
During his address, Minister Nasa Ige highlighted Djibouti’s progress in digital skills training and sports entrepreneurship. He emphasized that innovation and athleticism can jointly drive youth employment, community engagement, and continental unity.
On the sidelines, the Minister met with representatives from the African Development Bank and UNDP to explore funding opportunities for youth incubation hubs in Djibouti. He also held bilateral talks with his Rwandan counterpart on collaboration in sports education and youth innovation.
The summit concluded with a renewed commitment from African states to integrate technology and sports into national youth strategies.
